The other names we must not forget

First published in the New York Times, a rare expression of humility and gratitude from an American for the lost lives of Iraqis and Afghans who died because of their cooperation with Americans. Too many Americans are still utterly oblivious to the damage, death, injuries and sheer destructiveness they brought to the countries they have invaded in the name of their “national security.” Hundreds of thousands of innocents have died so that Americans can still feel the single greatest threat to their lives is “terrorism.’ It didn’t work guys, so why don’t you learn the lesson: it’s not worth it.
